Image Source: Johnson & Johnson – Third Quarter of Fiscal 2020 IR Earnings Presentation By Callum Turcan On October 13, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) reported third quarter fiscal 2020 earnings (period ended September 27, 2020) that beat consensus non-GAAP EPS estimates and consensus GAAP revenue estimates, though its GAAP EPS fell short of consensus estimates likely due to turbulence created by the ongoing coronavirus (‘COVID-19’) pandemic. Johnson & Johnson’s GAAP revenues were up 2% year-over-year last fiscal quarter while its GAAP gross margin stayed broadly flat at 66.9%. Outperformance of Valuentum’s COVID-19 Ideas

Image: Valuentum’s COVID-19 ideas. Hypothetical returns are calculated on a price basis. — Dear members: —On March 17, Valuentum released its best ideas for the COVID-19 pandemic. The original article can be found at the following link, “Top Ten Ideas for Consideration Amid COVID-19.” The note is significant for two reasons: 1) it was released practically at the March bottom, and 2) it identified outperforming ideas, which on an equal-weight basis outperformed the S&P 500 since then by 20 percentage points, generating a hypothetical price-only return of 64.2% (the dividend adjustment is negligible since then so it was left out of the calculation). — Please note that this is the only list that we released for our top 10 ideas … Read more

3 Lessons in Portfolio Management Over 10 Years

Dear members: — We’re finally getting a pause in the rapid ascent of the markets on September 3rd. Though headlines may look scary and momentum/volatility investors could start to pile on to the downside, a modest retracement is actually a good thing. Image Source: Johnson & Johnson – Second Quarter of 2020 IR Earnings Presentation By Callum Turcan On July 16, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) reported second quarter 2020 earnings that beat both consensus top- and bottom-line estimates. We continue to like shares of JNJ in both the Best Ideas Newsletter and Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolios. As of this writing, shares of JNJ yield ~2.7%.
