Valuentum's Dividend Growth Strategy 'Outperforming'
Image: The Valuentum Dividend Growth strategy has delivered thus far in 2022. With the S&P 500, as measured by the SPY, down 18.1% (negative 18.1%) thus far in 2022 and the S&P Dividend ETF (SDY) down 6.7% (negative 6.7%), the Valuentum dividend growth strategy, as measured by the hypothetical performance of the Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolio (as shown above), is down an estimated 4.6% (negative 4.6%) so far in 2022, all on a price-only basis. Though two percentage points better than the S&P High Yield Dividend Dividend Aristocrats Index doesn't seem like much, the large cap tilt of the simulated Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolio makes such "outperformance" significant and material. The benefits of a dividend growth strategy, in general, have also been on display so far in 2022, with the simulated Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolio "outperforming" the SPY by an estimated ~13.5 percentage points, on a price-only basis. With the half year mark of 2022 nearing, we wanted to continue to provide updates on the "performance" tracking across a variety of our publications. In case you missed them, please find the year-to-date evaluations of the simulated Best Ideas Newsletter portfolio, the Exclusive capital appreciation and short idea considerations, the simulated High Yield Dividend Newsletter portfolio, as well as our additional options commentary for your convenience. The links are provided as follows. In this article, we'll talk about the "performance" of the simulated Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolio relative to traditional benchmarks and in the context of modern portfolio theory, though we stress that our dividend growth focus is on long-term income expansion not short-term relative price performance, per se. Dividend Increases/Decreases for the Week of June 17
Let's take a look at firms raising/lowering their dividends this week. Jun 14, 2022
Prologis Buying Duke Realty as Logistical Real Estate Market Consolidates Further
Image Shown: Prologis Inc is merging with Duke Realty Corporation through an all-stock acquisition that will see Prologis cement itself as a logistical real estate powerhouse in the US and worldwide. Image Source: Duke Realty Corporation / Prologis Inc – June 2022 IR Presentation announcing the acquisition of Duke Realty by Prologis. On June 13, Prologis Inc announced it was buying Duke Realty Corporation through an all-stock transaction worth ~$26 billion when including the assumption of debt. In the wake of severe capital market volatility, some major deals in the real estate investment trust (‘REIT’) space are still getting done. Back in May 2022, Duke Realty rejected Prologis’ previous offer worth ~$24 billion as being “insufficient” which prompted Prologis to sweeten the pot to get a deal done. May 26, 2022
American Tower Beats Estimates and Raises Guidance
Image Shown: An overview of American Tower Corporation’s global asset base. Image Source: American Tower Corporation – First Quarter of 2022 IR Earnings Presentation. American Tower Corp is a real estate investment trust (‘REIT’) with a global portfolio of ~221,000 multi-tenant communications properties. We include American Tower as an idea in the High Yield Dividend Newsletter portfolio as its dividend growth track record and outlook are rock-solid. Shares of AMT yield ~2.3% as of this writing. Historically, the REIT has generated substantial “excess” free cash flows (after fully covering its total distribution obligations). Looking ahead, American Tower should continue to be a cash flow cow, highlighting one of the reasons we are big fans of the REIT. May 26, 2022
Public Storage Is a High-Quality Income Generation Idea
Image Source: Public Storage – March 2022 IR Presentation. On May 3, Public Storage reported first quarter 2022 earnings that missed consensus top-line estimates but beat consensus bottom-line estimates. The company reaffirmed its guidance for 2022 in conjunction with its latest earnings report. We are huge fans of Public Storage’s ample pricing power, strong occupancy rates, stellar cash flow profile, and its bright growth outlook. The self-storage real estate investment trust (‘REIT’) remains one of our favorite income generation ideas, and we include Public Storage in the High Yield Dividend Newsletter portfolio. Shares of PSA ~2.6% as of this writing. May 23, 2022

Public Storage Getting Ready To Report First Quarter 2022 Earnings
Image Shown: Public Storage, a longtime idea in our High Yield Dividend Newsletter portfolio, has seen its share price skyrocket over the past year with room for additional upside, in our view. After the market close on May 3, the self-storage real estate investment trust (‘REIT’) Public Storage intends to report its first-quarter earnings for 2022, which will be followed up by an earnings conference call a day later. Shares of PSA have been a long-time idea in the High Yield Dividend Newsletter portfolio, and we continue to be enormous fans of the name. The top end of our fair value estimate range sits at $445 per share of Public Storage, indicating that shares of PSA have room to keep running higher. As of this writing, shares of PSA yield ~1.9%. Dividend Increases/Decreases for the Week March 18
Let's take a look at companies that raised/lowered their dividend this week. Feb 23, 2022
High-Yielding American Tower Is a Free Cash Flow Cow
Image Shown: American Tower Corporation operates the tower structure and related land parcel of cell tower assets, while its tenants handle the remainder. Image Source: American Tower Corporation – Third Quarter of 2021 IR Earnings Presentation. Rising geopolitical tensions, inflationary headwinds, supply chain hurdles, and pressures from the rising interest rate environment are all weighing negatively on equity markets. In our view, this sell-off presents an opportunity for investors with a longer-term focus to consider high-quality REITs such as American Tower Corp, which is now trading at a significant discount to our estimate of its intrinsic value. High-Yielding Life Storage Has Tremendous Dividend Strength
Image Shown: Life Storage Inc is committed to rewarding income seeking investors. Image Source: Life Storage Inc – January 2022 IR Presentation. We are huge fans of Life Storage and the self-storage industry. Life Storage owns 1,000+ self-storage properties across 30+ states and has received an investment grade credit rating (Baa2/BBB) from two of the ‘Big Three’ rating agencies. The REIT also operates a third-party management platform for self-storage properties. The company’s financials are rock-solid and recent guidance increases speak favorably towards its near term outlook. Shares yield a solid ~3.1% at the time of this writing.
